Reforming Art Productions (RAP) grew out of the passion and creative vision of Justine Fraser, a professional dancer, dance educator and choreographer. This company was pioneered to create contemporary dance works that inspire forward-thinking ideals, working to expand the current perspective on the role of art in today's society.
RAP uses art as an educative platform to create contemporary dance works that offer fresh perspectives on relevant issues. Their works desire to not only ignite people's imaginations, but to instill a sense of responsibility, for the future of Canadian art, into both the viewer and participant.
Through her own dance experience, Justine has recognized that what she has learned through the creative process transcends far past dancing itself. She is inspired by the idea that the creative process can be taken out of the studio setting and used as an educative tool to help people find and celebrate their individuality. Through a comittment to her imagination and continued research, Justine challenges herself to find new ways that community growth and expansion can be achieved through dance.
The vision of the company is to use dance to create a community of forward thinking individuals who see untouched potential in the everyday use of art. Through developed workshops and the expansion of outreach initiatives, Reforming Art Productions is committed to using the creative process to raise self-awareness and a sense of responsibility into the next generation, so that youth can make the bold, necessary leaps vital for the expansion of future Canadian Dance.
